The concept of having the state divided into six regions developed out of a need to bring music educators together to facilitate communication across the state. Region chairs were appointed to act as facilitators.
One of the primary goals of the region chair is to help develop an up-to-date database of music educators (public, private, college/university) within their region. ArkMEA has created a database through Salesforce.com. The information that is collected is not made public. As a non-profit organization, Salesforce.com does not charge ArkMEA for this service.
In the near future we hope to make a database accessible through this website to allow music educators to access their own information in order to keep it updated. Until that time you can help us by completing the "Register" form under "Contacts." The information you submit will be entered into the database, allowing us to notify you of events and matters pertaining to music education in Arkansas and the nation.
Your school district/university (except districts in Pulaski County) is within the service area of one of fifteen education service cooperatives. The chart below shows the region to which a cooperative is assigned. Please click on the link associated with your cooperative. A region page will open showing how to contact your region chair. You will also find a link to the "Register" form.
We look forward to being better able to serve you and music education in Arkansas. Thank you.
